welcome to ashley's angels
dedicated to helping families in need during the holidays
how it all began
Ashley Angels began several years ago when a truck driver heard of a mother and a child living in a car with no hopes for Christmas. A few drivers joined together to provide Christmas for "Ashley" and her mother. A great impact was made on these drivers and they continued helping other families during Christmas time.
“The Ashley’s Angels program was established by a Mississippi Ashley Furniture truck driver in 1997 that heard about a girl named Ashley who was living in a car with her mother,” said Patrick Myers of Ashley’s Angels.
“The Ashley driver recruited help from other truckers to provide food, clothing, and additional assistance in helping this family find proper housing by Christmas. Seeing the impact that their efforts had made in this family’s life inspired them to form Ashley’s Angels.”

The organization has generated over $2,000,000 in donations and benefited more than 15,000 children in Mississippi, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania since 1997.
Volunteers hold many different fundraisers throughout the year to raise money. We help with our town's annual festival coordinating the Poker Run, hold golf tournaments, help with Ashley for the Arts, clean up trash at the Ashley Picnic and many more events.
Volunteers gather a few nights is November and December to shop for the families. Everything is confidential as each child's form is coded, the volunteer shoppers know the child's age, gender and wish list items. |
The community patrons of Ashley’s Angels, including local businesses and volunteers, partner with area schools to provide necessities, with hope for a better Christmas, to children who need it most.
Ashley’s Angels receives only the information that is necessary (e.g. shirt size) from participating school guidance counselors and teachers who keep the names of the recipients confidential. Ashley’s Angels is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, and blankets; and fills special gift requests for children in need each year. |
Each year we are growing and are fortunate to be able to help many families, hopefully helping them have the Christmas spirit. We would like to thank all of our supporters, volunteers and believers!
Ashley’s Angels Helps 1,356 Needy Children in 4 States in 2017
Ashley’s Angels, a non-profit group organized by Ashley Furniture employees, delivered Christmas cheer to 1,356 needy children across the country, providing food, clothing, and toys to children in more than 60 school districts in Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
This year, the non-profit organization along with Ashley employees raised $262,081 in support of the program. The all-volunteer group worked with local schools - primarily school guidance counselors and nurses - to identify children in need of extra assistance. Every child in the program, along with his or her siblings, received winter apparel, shoes (as needed), clothes, a blanket, and a special Christmas present. Each child’s family also received a Christmas dinner. |
“Ashley’s Angels originated from the passion of one employee wanting to help others in need. That passion has carried on for 20 years, inspiring others throughout our company and our surrounding communities to also participate,” said Todd Wanek, president and CEO of Ashley Furniture. “I am so proud of the efforts these volunteers put forth, year-round, and for inspiring others to help spread holiday cheer to those who need it most.”
